Deputy Principals' Welcome

Deputy Principals' Welcome

Welcome to our updated website. We hope you enjoy perusing our pages and get a sense of the vibrant, enthusiastic and productive school which our teachers and students experience on a daily basis here in Loreto Secondary School, Bray.

We are in the privileged position of having two deputy Principals; Ms Frances Ward and Ms. Margaret Scott. Together we promote the values that underpin the education your daughter will enjoy during her six years as a Loreto, Bray student. Those values; Justice, Freedom, Joy, Sincerity and Truth espoused by our founder Mary Ward are rooted in the Gospel. They underpin all that we do here in Loreto, Bray. We aim to give all our students a sense of belonging to a wider Loreto community and a sense of connectedness that will enable all our students to give of themselves for the service of others.

While we excel in academic excellence which is borne out in our outstanding Junior and Leaving Certificate results year after year, we also place huge value on a holistic rounded education that ensures all of our students reach their full potential.

We are fortunate to offer excellent co curricular and extracurricular programs to our students. We have an all weather astro turf pitch and a stand alone sports hall that facilitate an array of extracurricular sporting activities to take place. We have a very proud tradition in hockey, basketball, soccer, Gaelic football, badminton, athletics, equestrian and tennis, where many of our students excel. We also pride ourselves on the cultural and social justice opportunities we offer in the school. Amongst these include Drama Club, Writer’s Club, Debating, Book Club, the Green School team and the Peace and Justice Society. In the recent past we have been delighted to see clubs in the STEM area emerge such as STEM Club and Coding Club.

As Deputy Principals, our aim is to encourage all our students to excel and to reach their full potential in an environment that promotes cutting edge teaching and learning strategies combined with academic excellence.
