Welcome to the Loreto Secondary School Parents Section
Welcome to the Parents Association of Loreto Secondary School Bray. We represent all the parents/guardians of girls attending Loreto Bray.
The Association’s role is defined in the Education Act, namely to ‘promote the interests of the students, in co-operation with the board, Principal, teachers and the students of that school’.
About Loreto PA
To assist with the smooth running of the organisation, a committee is elected each year as follows:
Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer, Mr. McHugh (Deputy Principal) as well as a Parent Representative from the Board of Management.
Board of Management Representatives: Amanda Clooney and Neal O’Doherty
This takes place in September of each Year with an invited speaker to increase awareness around topical issues such as Internet safety and Study Skills
PA – Useful Information
The Education Act, 1998 sets down the role of the Parent Association:
‘The Parent Association works with the principal, staff and the Board of Management to build effective partnership of home and school.
Educational research on the involvement of parents in schools shows that children achieve higher levels when parents and teachers work together.
The Parent Association can advise the principal and Board of Management on policy issues and incidents that may require a review of school policy, e.g. Bullying, Safety, Homework, Enrolment, Behaviour problems etc.
Parent Associations can suggest and/or organise extra-curricular activities.
The Parent Association is a support for parents in the school.
The Parent Association can invite speakers to address the parents on issues which are topical or relevant.
The Parent Association is not a forum for complaint against either an individual teacher or parent. The Complaints Procedure is the mechanism for this.’

Please click on this link for important details on: Correct School Uniform 2018/2019
Wearing the correct school uniform is important in Loreto Bray and forms an essential part of the school’s Code of Behaviour and Discipline.
Therefore, every student is expected to wear the full and proper uniform travelling to and returning home and while in school.
Details regarding uniform requirements are given to every new student before she arrives in the school, along with important points governing the wearing of jewellery and scarves. Make-up should not be worn with the uniform.
All items of uniform must be clearly and permanently marked with the student’s name.
It is strongly recommended that students change out of the uniform when they return home at the end of the school day.
The Loreto Bray uniform supplier is:
