Curriculum

General Information

Loreto Bray offers students a six year programme of studies:

  • A three year Junior Cycle programme of studies.
  • A non-compulsory Transition Year programme of studies
  • A two year Senior Cycle programme of studies.

Our students participate in the Irish state examinations system. Students sit the Junior Certificate Examination on completion of Junior Cycle while the terminal examination for Senior Cycle students is the Leaving Certificate Examination.

THE SCHOOL DAY:

All classes are forty minutes in length.
Roll call takes place at 8.45am daily.

 Mon/Tues/Thursday  9 Classes per day. School closes at 4.00 pm
 Wed  6 Classes. School closes at 1.10 pm.
 Fri  8 Classes. School closes at 3.20 pm.

Chinese Studies

The Loreto Bray Chinese Studies Programme started in September 2007 and now offers Mandarin Chinese classes to first, second, third and fourth year students. The programme is sponsored by the UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland. Junior Cycle

Students in Loreto Bray study 10 Junior Cycle subjects to Junior Certificate level.
