A representative from Irish Life presented class 108 with their trophy for winning Girls Most Improved School in the Irish Life Schools Fitness Challenge.

This was a huge achievement for these First Year students, with nearly 350 schools taking part in the challenge nationally; it was the most competitive year yet.

The students participated in a beep test in order to measure their cardiovascular fitness. They then, with all of the other First, Second and Third Year students in the school undertook a six week training challenge to improve their overall fitness. At the end of these six weeks, the students were retested.

Class 108 came out as the top girls’ school in the country for improving their fitness levels over the six week period. Congratulations to them, and hopefully this will spur everyone on to try win the overall prize next year.
