Senior Book Club

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

The Senior Book Club is a long-established and much-loved tradition in Loreto Bray. Our members meet on the third Monday of every month in our school library to discuss our chosen books. The Book Club has a dual purpose- it both encourages our students to read for pleasure and feeds into our Literacy Strategy. Lively discussion, a variety of opinions and a plethora of book recommendations provide for very interesting meetings.

The Book Club is facilitated by Ms. Traynor and Ms. Williams. Copies of the books are provided for the students thanks to a discounted rate from our local bookshop ‘Dubray Books’. Our current book is ‘Thirteen Ways of Looking’ by Colum McCann. This is described as ‘a ground-breaking novella of extraordinary resonance’.

We look forward to another exciting year ahead!
